What types of Milling Machine are there

There are many types of Milling Machine, which are generally distinguished according to the layout and scope of application.

1.Elevating table milling machine: There are universal, horizontal and vertical, etc., which are mainly used for processing small and medium-sized parts and are widely used.

2.Gantry milling machine: including gantry boring and milling machine, gantry milling machine and double column milling machine, both of which are used to process large parts.

3.Single-column milling machine and single-arm milling machine: the horizontal milling head of the former can move along the guide rail of the column, and the worktable is fed longitudinally; the vertical milling head of the latter can move horizontally along the guide rail of the cantilever, and the cantilever can also be adjusted in height along the guide rail of the column. Both are used to machine large parts.

4.Milling machine without lifting table: There are two types of table type and round table type, which is a medium-sized milling machine between the lifting table milling machine and the gantry milling machine. Its vertical movement is completed by the milling head lifting on the column.

5.Instrument milling machine: A small lifting table milling machine for processing instruments and other small parts.

6.Tool milling machine: used for mold and tool manufacturing, equipped with various accessories such as end milling head, universal angle table and plug, and can also perform drilling, boring and slotting.

7.Other milling machines: such as keyway milling machine, cam milling machine, crankshaft milling machine, roll journal milling machine and square steel ingot milling machine, etc., are special milling machines manufactured for processing corresponding workpieces.

According to the control mode, milling machines are divided into profiling milling machines, program control milling machines and digital control milling machines.
